The volume is a much extended and augmented, freshly researched version in colour of the Iconography of the First Duke of Wellington by Gerald Wellesley, 7th Duke of Wellington, the author’s grandfather. The book opens with an essay by David Cannadine which describes the background to Wellington’s illustrious career as soldier, politician and statesman.
